Denver Dill has been a prizewinner and competitor in several competitions, including the 2000 Maurice Andre International Trumpet Competition in France, 2002 Tromp Muziek Biennale International Trumpet Competition in the Netherlands and the 2001-2003 National Trumpet Competitions in the United States. Mr. Dill has been a featured performer at the 2002 Focus! Music Festival, the 2003 Jerome L. Greene Memorial Concert, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra’s North American Premier of Augusta Reed Thomas’ Daylight Divine (Solo Piccolo trumpet), the 2002 Aspen Music Festival (Shostakovich Piano Concerto No. 1 with Ann Schein), and the 2004 International Trumpet Guild Conference (New Works Concert). In 2008, Mr. Dill was contracted as a soloist for the New York Philharmonic playing Berio’s Sequenza X for Trumpet.
| | Formerly a doctoral student at the Eastman School of Music, Mr. Dill holds a master's degree from the Juilliard School and a bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky University. His primary teachers include: Rick Ruth, Kevin Eisensmith, William Goodwin, Vince DiMartino, Raymond Mase, Mark Gould, Phil Smith, James Thompson and Clay Jenkins. He is currently serving his nation as a member of the United States Military Academy Band at West Point. He feels blessed just to be able to play the trumpet after experiencing complicated Orbicularis Oris damage.
| | Denver is happily married to his beautiful wife, Megan. They reside with their two mischievous kitties, Pete and Repete, in New York. Beyond trumpet, Mr. Dill is a Christian who promotes the study of apologetics and living by grace. | |
