The Iowa students benefited from a relaxed and informative presentation from two very personable young artists. They shared insights about how they see their careers, how they’ve gotten to where they are, and what kinds of things they aspire to accomplish. In addition, they shared their ideas on how they go about making music, how they collaborate and how they go about performing.

The evening concert was a delightfully eclectic mixture of music that held the audience spellbound from start to finish. Denver Dill is a most remarkable young trumpeter – no doubt, a star rising! He has a keen sense and command of his resources that allow him to artistically transcend the physical limitations of the trumpet with seeming ease. He delivers a warm and noble sound on one end of the spectrum and can explode with brilliant fire on the other. Teamed with Rebecca Wilt, a wonderfully gifted pianist and musician, Equinox is a duo to experience! Their performance is stunning, and the Iowa concert left the audience talking about it for weeks, having set the reference bar early in the year for what a “great concert is.”
